This is truly a pain in the ass. For some unexplained reason we experience a loud squealing noise that comes from the rear end of the vehicle. At first we thought that a brake pad needed replacing, but the brakes were looked at and are in excellent condition. It also sounds like a belt issue, but they all look fine as well. There is no rhyme or reason to when the noise will happen - it occurs equally while driving highway speeds or city driving. The real annoyance is that it will stop for days at a time and have you think that whatever it was has jiggled out and the problem is all fixed up, only to start and persevere off and on yet again. We tried to find some predictability to the noise, like for instance it seems to stop when turning or going around a bend, but mostly it is just random. When the squealing is happening, it is very loud, abnormal and extremely annoying to listen to. Because no one has been able to pinpoint the problem, it is also worrisome. We are beginning to feel stuck with a lemon, and wish for 'lemon laws' in Canada!

Sedona LX 3.8L V6

Bought used with 21XXX miles on it in December... noise started at the end of January or early February. Not sure where it's coming from... even folded down the third-row seats, laid down on the floor, and had my wife drive around while I listened for the location. On bumpy roads (e.g., pot holes, frost heaves, etc.), there's an annoying squeaking/squealing noise that comes from the floor near the rear wheel hubs. We've had Kia look into it... they couldn't pinpoint an exact location, but lubed some parts of the vehicle. This gave us about 4 days of no noise (YAY!), but it eventually came back. Doesn't happen all the time... sometimes will be there as soon as you get going, or sometimes it will take a little bit of driving before it starts. Trying to figure out if it's a temperature-dependent thing (metal parts warming up and expanding), but it hasn't been consistent enough and it's my wife's vehicle, so I'm not the primary driver. Not a "kick the tires and leave it by the side of the road" magnitude of problem, but definitely annoying. Dealer has been nice about it so far. Anyone else experience this and have some input. It's basically same vehicle as the Hyundai Entourage, so it may affect those models as well. Otherwise, this vehicle is great and we love it.
