Notes: Look past the horrible hamster advertising campaign and you'll find a vehicle that is comfortable to drive, roomy and reliable. Just don't expect to set any MPG records on the highway (a side effect of driving a car shaped like a lunchbox).

The right rear passenger tire makes a clunking noise everytime I hit a bump or turn the vehicle. Feels like the axle is going to fall off. I saw that others are having or have had the same problem. Wanted to post the complaint, hoping that since it is a common issue, Kia is forced to have it fixed or reimburse us. It's obviously a problem with the make of the car.

I purchased a new set of 4 kumho tires P205/55R16 89H BSW solus xpert KH20 at 22096 miles on 10/17/2013. Within the 1st 45 days my wife was driving on a rural 4 lane hwy and the tire went down in seconds. Discount tire replaced the tire under the road hazard warranty I purchased. She did not notice hitting anything in the roadway and it was not a blow-out. The tire just quickly deflated over a hundred yards or so. Now within another 45 days I have a bulge in the other front tire. Although discount tire is offering to replace the next one under the road hazard things are not adding up. [xxx] from discount tire stated it's because of pot holes. I can't just openly accept that we are continually hitting pot holes damaging tires without notice. Also, diagnosing potential tire problems of the fact may not be the most accurate. For this reason I am notifying the dot for review in case this is a wider issue. Thanks for your time. I was driving to work, making a left turn into the parking lot when the front passenger tire blew. The steering wheel pulled sharply to the right and I was pulled into a curb. This caused over $1600 worth of damage to the car. There was a huge hole in the side wall of the tire and no evidence of any metal or anything in the tire. Also, the tire pressure indicator light has never come on, so I know they were at the proper psi. I contacted the dealer when the accident happened, and was told they have no responsibility for the tires. They actually looked at the car and all they said was "this is just bad driving." I then called the Kia company and talked to three different people. Their conclusion was they are not responsible for the tires. One person even asked how much I weighed! this vehicle is a 2011 and only has 8,200 miles on it. I had to go through my insurance to get it fixed. I believe that Kia should stand by these tires, because nexxen come standard on their vehicles. Since this has happened, I have researched online and have found people have had similar problems with the tires on Kia vehicles.

The contact owns a 2011 Kia Soul equipped with hankook nexen P225/45/R13 tires, dot 8ej7. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he noticed that there was a large bubble on the sidewall of the front driver's side tire. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the failure was due to the driving characteristics of the owner. The tire was replaced. The failure recurred approximately three months later on the front passenger tire. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 14,000.
