Telluride SX 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

2020 Telluride SX AWD, just like the Dk. Green one in all the ads, has developed a transmission issue. While driving, it will rev up to 4K RPMs and bang into 4th gear. Doesn't matter if it is light, medium or hard acceleration. It took Kia 2 weeks just to tell me what I already knew. It needs a new transmission. I repeatedly ask the service personnel about time and a loaner. They could not give me a completion time nor a loaner car during the repair.

At the time of purchase we were told a loaner vehicle is available for repairs requiring more than a 24 hour turn around time. Then I receive a call from Kia Customer Care explaining that I must rent a vehicle during the down time with no estimation of completion. The Kia Rep. referred to it as an open ended rental. I was also informed to use Enterprise due to Kia having an agreement setup with them for a $45 dollar a day rate. Enterprise had no clue what I was trying to do and kept telling me that the Dealership had to set it up. The Dealership kept telling me it was between me and Kia Customer Care. WHAT????!!!!!

Luckily the Enterprise Manager kept looking into this and helped to make the arrangements to get a rental. That alone took a week, yes a week. We are now 60 days into waiting for a transmission with no estimated due date. I sure hope Kia Care does reimburse us and we receive a transmission soon. I won't have much more room to keep charging the rental to my credit card. Looking into the Texas Lemon Law buy back, but that process could take 6 months. Hate to keep paying and insuring a vehicle we cannot use. Should have bought the Infinity or Audi. What irks me the most is that the transmission is made in the USA.

Telluride SX Prestige V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,927 miles

Although this was covered under manufacturer warranty, it worries me about the integrity of the 4wd system for down the road. It would have cost me $1,700 to repair outside of warranty.
