My 2007 Lexus IS250 has issues with the windshield molding. The left and right side are chipping away and cracking on the left and right side. It seems like it Is due to the sun and the part does not withstand heat causing it to dry where it becomes brittle. This can be a safety issue and needs to be resolved.

The present Is to express my concern in regards to how the interior of my Lexus IS250 has melted and deteriorated. The dash board Is completely shiny which causes a bright reflection in my windshield while driving. Along with the glare in the windshield, the melting plastic could tamper with the functioning of my airbags and may even be releasing harmful chemicals. After reading and researching about the matter I was directed to safercar.gov to voice my concerns and join the thousand of Lexus owners dealing with this horrible situation.

The dash has become sticky along with the other parts made from the same material. I have not done anything that would have caused this issue. It is a manufacturer defect.

The dashboard panel has deteriorated to the point that it Is soft, tacky, and a significant glare Is reflected onto the windshield reducing a driver's visibility. The deterioration continues to worsen spreading throughout the dashboard where the passenger airbag Is enclosed.

The front dashboard of my 2007 Lexus IS350 has melted into a highly reflective, sticky substance that significantly hinders visibility out the front of the automobile under certain lighting conditions. I have not had an incident yet but am very concerned about the safety of driving the car.

The dashboard seems to be melting and Is sticky and shiny. It creates a blind spot when the sun hits it just right. I contacted my Lexus dealer in austin and they say car Is out of warranty so they want us to pay to fix it. I don't think a dashboard should be melting and turning glossy. This should be considered a defect that poses a safety issue.

Dash is melting causing a glare making it hard to see. I was very upset when I purchased my Lexus IS350 and saw the dash starting to melt. Lexus is suppose to be a luxury car but I find it hard to be true with the lack of attention to detail when it comes to the dash and door panel melting. I am only 5'0 tall and no matter if I raise my seat up down back forward the melted dash makes a glare on the windshield making it very hard to almost impossible to see on sunny days. I drive 100 miles for work 5 days a week and I find myself often having to duck down near the steering wheel just so I can see out my windshield. This is a safety issue that needs to be dealt with and took care of completely. Toyota do you want to be the one to call my child when I wreck my car due to a "melting dash" causing a terrible glare making it hard to see and drive??

My dash has been melting for a long time now, it first started lightly then would dry up but the last two summers it has gotten much worse. You can not see out the windshield driving in sunlight or when lights approach at night, glare from the shine on dash pad reflects up on windshield creating large reflective area. I have taken several images recently that show the clearly defective dangerous conditions this causes & in the images although very clear that it blocks sight... you can not tell the severity that Is actually present when traveling and it flashes across certain angles & something pulls out in front of my car I am totally blinded couple seconds. Enough time usually have hit brakes or swerve because can not see at all or if about too hit anything or not, luckily so far nothing has happened but if someone not used too this condition drove my car they would certainly have an accident no question. I have loaned the car too friends and brought back instantly because afraid too drive like this.

My 2007 Lexus IS250 dashboard has sticky/melting issue. While driving during summer hot day in Texas, the melting dashboard generates light reflection on windshield makes me difficult to see the front objects. It also makes me feel unsafe because airbags just under it. Not sure airbags get deployed in the right time or not if an accident happens. Lexus should recall dashboards.

Lexus has produced cars with defective interiors that only last a few years. For an expensive luxury car that is supposed to represent quality this is unacceptable. Cars that cost half the price do not have this problem after 10 even 20 years. If you just got into your china-made Toyota Camry only to notice that your door panel has inexplicably melted, it's probably not your fault and the problem is going to be fixed for free. As I am told by employees of Lexus, the corporate office of Lexus is well aware of the problem with the material used in the cars Lexus produced in 2007. As the car sits in the sun the door panels start to melt. This makes no sense for a luxury car to have this type of problem. I am requesting that the door panels be changed under my extended warranty even though this should not fall under any warranty repair due to the fact this is a factory defect.

Dashboard Is extremely sticky as if melted and causes an awful glare on the windshield during night and day hours. Lexus said this was a vanity issue and would not warranty it out. I do not have the money to replace the dashboard. Also the handles on the doors where the same materials Is, very soft and able to be manipulated which does not affect driving but it Is an issue.

I am absolutely disappointed that after seven years the dashboard and door panels of my IS350 have melted! these parts became sticky, glossy, and extremely unsafe. I have done my best to keep my car looking new. I thought when I bought this car I was buying quality and high end material. I've only ever used a soft rag to clean the interior, so this makes me upset and unhappy with the quality and lack of support. I thought that by having the platinum service agreement and Lexus knowing about this problem, theywould have done something to remedy this issue. It's such an ugly feeling to know you've purchased an expensive, luxury car and this happens. Then, I have to pay for it! this is a huge concern for quality and safety.

The dashboard in my Lexus IS250 appears to be melting. The dashboard becomes extremely sticky when the vehicle Is in the sunlight. As a result of the inferior quality, a shine Is beginning to appear on the dashboard which reflects on to the windshield when in the sun. The reflection in the windshield makes it difficult to see when driving and Is getting increasingly worse as time passes.

I have a 2007 car with 77,000 miles on it. In July of 2011, I noticed that the dashboard was getting sticky and shiny and had the start of a small crack in it. Over the next few years, the crack got huge and spread. At this point I can actually peel parts of the dash off by hand. The plastic on the dash looks like it is melting, it is shiny and sticky to the touch. Another issue I have with my car is the rubber gaskets in all the windows are melting. The seal hasn't been compromised yet but it leaves nasty streaks on the windows when I go to roll them down. I never have clean windows. I do live in Florida and it gets super hot here but the other cars (non-Lexus) that we own do not have either of these problems. I really loved my Lexus when we purchased it, but I am super disappointed in it now, and the fact that because it is no longer under warranty, they won't cover it being repaired. I'm not even sure it's worth it at this point. Unfortunately, I will never buy another Lexus ever again.
