I bought brand new CX 5 2017 1.5 years back. I had fun driving the car till recently. I have been hearing a squealing noise for last few months. My previous Honda accord had this sound after 6 yrs (75k miles) when it needed a brake replacement. So I ignored it as I did not believe my new Mazda would need brakes change so early. Then I went for an oil change and the mechanic said my rear brake pads had completely worn off and needed replacement !!

Then I called Mazda dealer and they immediately referred me to Mazda at 1800 222 5500. When I called Mazda they said talk to dealer to verify if it is normal wear and tear or not. I definitely suspect they are trying to hide their fault. This definitely sounds a class action suit. Anyone ? I am extremely unhappy with Mazda with this, when I mentioned that I Googled and found many people having the same issue, they said "you can find anything on Google to be true"!!!!

CX-5 Touring 3.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 2,800 miles

Bought NEW 2017 Mazda CX5 Touring on December 28 2017. Was advised by Dealer Brake noise would be resolved after driving a "Few" Miles. I mentioned several times during extensive Test drive. Problem continued after 500-1000-Miles... and Getting Worse at 4200 Miles. It's now Feb. 19th 2018.

I've kept undercarriage clean and have attempted to IGNORE... the problem. Keeps getting Worse. Both in Wet and dry conditions. Can hear almost like a constant dragging on brakes and noticed Gas Mileage decreasing.

Have Notified Dealership and have appointment to Service- WELL Under the 36k Mile Warranty. Will follow up after Service with their diagnosis and remedy.

*I've Noticed a Company that produces "Performance" Brake pkgs for this Vehicle.to Reduce Brake noise.

WHY???? Would this add on be Necessary ..? Will DEFINATELY keep all advised.
