paint cracking

My car is only 2 years old with 15K miles and I noticed after a car wash that the paint on the front hood and the top of the car has started cracking. You can see in the picture it is not due to rock chips or any other damage. It is literally cracking and started peeling off. Rock chips and scratches happen but cracking paint on a 2 year old car is unacceptable! I am very disappointed in Mazda for the poor paint job.

MAZDA3 SPEED3 2.3L

  • Manual transmission
  • 25,000 miles

The locking mechanism/button thingy on the 2010 Mazda3 5 Door's hatch is riveted on way too tight, causing massive cracks to spread outward in all directions from the button. It started as one smal crack, but within a month the original crack expanded 6 inches from the button, and multiple cracks have appeard spreading out in all directions. The original crack spread underneath the Mazda emblem, to the point where the emblem is falling off, probably from the stress on the glue caused by the paint separating from the crack. I will be attempting to have this repaired under factory waranty. This seems like a factory defect to me. Car is only a year and a half old. First Mazda, maybe my last.
