The particulate filter is a general problem with all the diesels, it gets overfilled and the sensor start to send warning signals. So the ECU puts the whole car into a limp mode. Mercedes is absolute aware of the problem, they are selling the whole system around 2000 usd. Aftermarket makers for a little bit less. A US company offers to overwrite the program so it would ignore the error signals and allows limitless dirty particles into the air. That cost 800 by them, and the damage the vehicle cause is unmeasurable.

Currently my car is in limp mode for a year since either I pay them bypass the pdf filter, or buy a new one.
