The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. While driving various speeds, the slider engaged and opened without warning. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The manufacturer sent an independent mechanic to diagnose and repair the control module and the slide out switch, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer informed the contact that due to the high heat climate she lived in, the failure would recur. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 68,000.
