Tranmission/torque converter has a shudder when shifting at about 50 mph, I have done some research regarding this and have found 19 tsb's regarding the transmission/torque converter from Jan. 1995 to July of 2003. This is on my 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis. I have contacted Ford/Mercury and have been told the cost of diagnosis and repair is my responsibility. It would seem to me with so many tsb's on this problem there is a mfg. Defect involved, and should be fixed by the mfg.

Consumer experiencing ongoing problem with transmission. At times comes to a complete stop. Vehicle would esitate before it takes off. Took vehicle to dealer for repairs. Dealer replaced torque converter and reprogrammed PCM.

Vehicle shudders when shifting gears. This in an intermittent problem and occurs more frequently when there is low load on engine and when transmission is trying to select geras.
