: the contact stated while approaching a stop under normal braking, the vehicles engine revs and surges forward. The brake pedal must be depressed to the floor to stop the vehicle. This happened 5 times and the vehicle was inspected by the dealer however; the problem could not be duplicated. The vehicle was driven over 6,000 miles when the problem returned. It was taken back to the dealer for service and again the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. The consumer believed there is a problem with the transmission. Updated 04/06/06.

New 2004 Mercury marquis. Had car for one day. Attempted to make a quick left turn by depressing accelerator to the floor. Motor started revving up but the car would not move. Let off gas and transmission engaged. After making the turn, stopped the car, still in drive, put the gas pedal to the floor. The engine went into high revs and the car moved very slow, released the gas and the transmission once again engage. Took car back to dealer and they are replacing the transmission.
