This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
2010 Nissan Altima hybrid suddenly lost all power (both electric and gasoline generated) while moving in traffic. I had to cut across 2 lanes through heavy traffic (while coasting) to get to the curb. After waiting and shutting the car down, I was able to restart it. I took it to the local dealer, which simply said the car "showed no codes" and, therefore, was unable to diagnose the problem or make repairs. I consider this a major safety problem, as I now question whether the vehicle can be safely operated or taken on any long trips.
