Frontier SE Crew Cab Short Bed 4.0L V6

Since the day I bought this truck (used), occassionally the truck vibrates violently as it tries to shift from 2nd to 3rd gears. The issue is especially noticeable when going up an incline when this occurs. I managed to work around it by letting off the gas and then slepping on the gas again. That little move allows the transmission to shift to 3rd. I haven't searched if this is a common problem or not.

Frontier LE V6

  • Automatic transmission

My 2007 has had this problem since it was new. At 40 mph if I held it

at a constant speed at begin up a steep hill it will shutter like a Manual

in to high of gear. I can turn the OD off or accelerate and it stops. The

dealer last week said they couldn't duplicate, but when mechanic went with me it occurred 2x. I have 70000k on it now. My radiator was replaced years ago and I believe if any Transmission fluid got into Radiatior the tranny will ultimately fail.....

Frontier V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

I purchased my truck in Sept of 2013 from Grand Strand Nissan. I noticed that the transmission made a different sound than any of my American cars but didn't know any better. I was informed today by one of my co-workers, that Nissan has had faulty radiators for many years which cause the rad fluid to spill into the transmission fluid which ruins your transmission!!!!! My truck still runs but for how long?? It already shows signs of this:(:(:( I just don't know what to do or to whom I would take my truck. This should be fixed by the dealership and Nissan since they produced the faulty radiators!!!! I just don't know what to do. I'm afraid I may be taken advantage of again.

loved my stanza, when i needed a new vehicle I purchased the Frontier. I was warned by the dealer to let dealer perform all services or Nissan wouldn't fix problems under warranty. We put a lot of miles on our vehicles. 1 st year sensor for tire pressure and gas gauge not working. they refused to repair. Problems with all warnings lights, engine check light impossible to keep off.Even the seat belt light is on now. Transmission shifts cause a rumbling in truck. After researching these problems, I have read about all the tricks Nissan has pulled to avoid fixing these problems. All I can say is be warned before buying a Nisan, I'll never buy another one.
