The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while stopped, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact mentioned that smoke was emitting from the tires and in order to stop the vehicle the engine had to be shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the problem and informed the contact that the computer did not record failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
