On April 3, I bought my 1.6 SV engine 2012 Nissan Juke on the basis of gas economy because I am driving long distance. I was looking for a small and good car on gas consumption. Unfortunately I made the worst choice by buying the Nissan Juke.
On my first two days of driving, I am disappointed and I feel like that I have been had. On my first 323 km on Highway, I spend 31,3 liters in good weather conditions (sunny day and spring temperature conditions) with driving rate of 105km/h in average. It is about a consumption rate of 9,7liter/100 km that is far and very far from the 6,1liter/100 km published in all Nissan Juke advertisements. In my second trip long of 318km, I tried reducing down my speed to 90km/h. For this second essay, I consumed 28 liters, that leads to a consumption rate of 8,8 liter/100km.
On this basis of the two experiences, I can state that the Nissan Juke advisement is false and violates the Canadian laws regarding consumers protection. Before starting any formal action, I would like to know in what weather and driving conditions can we reach the consumption rate of 6,1liter/100 km on Highway?
I regret that I did not buy a 2012 Ford Focus what I drove for 2 months. With this car, anyone can reach easily on highway in worst weather and driving conditions 6,5 liter/100km.
