The contact owns a 2014 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15V460000 (seat belts, air bags), 15V459000 (air bags), 15V541000 (steering), and 17V302000 (air bags). The parts for the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. While the vehicle was parked on an incline, the contact closed the front passenger door and the passenger air bag and passenger seat air bag deployed without warning. Also, the passenger and driver side seat belt pretension locked and damaged the seat belts, rendering them inoperable. The contact took the vehicle to the lakeland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer (2875 mall hill drive, lakeland, fl 33810; 863-687-2501) who stated that there were five recalls on the vehicle. The dealer stated that they would repair the vehicle per NHTSA campaign number: 15V460000 (seat belts, air bags), but not the collateral damages. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened an investigation; however, the matter had not been resolved. The approximate failure mileage was 77,800. Parts distribution disconnect.

I noticed my steering wheel was off center. Also the electronic stability control system was going off repeatedly. I took it to a dealership for inspection and they found no "codes" in the computer and could not get the ESC to go off while driving. They neglected to notice my steering was off center. They said nothing was wrong with the vehicle and to just turn off the ESC and if it went off again to stop and turn the truck on and off again. I had the wheels aligned thinking this was the problem. The truck seemed sensitive while driving over bumps in the road but I didn't realize the issue. A few days later while driving on the interstate at 70 mph the truck began to shake violently and would not stop until I reduced the speed to 20 mph. It was extremely dangerous and hard to drive or steer while it was shaking. It did this again 3 more times. I kept the speed at 55-60 mph and was able to get the vehicle home without incident. I took it in to the dealer the next morning and they drove it barely a mile and the steering almost completely failed. I could have had total steering failure and lost control of the vehicle. My truck has approximately 64,000 miles it is 3 years old and it has never been wrecked.

While driving down the road, when the road curved, I attempted to tun the steering wheel, I got no response from the wheels. I went off the road and in to the ditch. Once in the ditch, I turned the steering wheel to see if the wheels would turn, the wheels would not turn. Looking under the front of the truck the steering drag ink had broke at the adjusting sleeve. Looking at the drag link it has broken in half for no reason, and one of the jam nuts is loose. Ram is not offering any assistance to me to cover the repairs or damages to the truck.

2014 tradesman 2500, approximately 92,500 miles right front hub failed at 91000 destroying rotor, caliper, bracket, pads, ABS wiring melted. Replaced hub with usa moog brand and remaining parts with mopar genuine. Vehicle returned approximately one month later and center drag link torn from coupler adjuster due to apparent thread failure. Failure destroyed both ends of drag link from pitman arm to right wheel knuckle. Coupler adjuster threads destroyed as well. Failure occurred while exiting owners property at low speed. Fortunate for owner. This truck is primarily a highway road vehicle and has spent very little time "off-road" or on unimproved roadways. The truck is not equipped with a steering dampner shock. Truck has been towed to authorized Ram facility for further inspections and to address four recalls for which owner indicates has received no notification.

Steering rod adjusting nuts continue to come loose has been to the dealer three times and going back to the dealer next week for the same problem this issue started in may and has not been resolved before the third visit I contacted Chrysler and received a case number was told to take it to the dealership and the dealership kept the vehicle all day told me they realigned the front and tightened up the adjustment nuts should be good to go; that was 7 weeks ago noticed that the steering was getting loose again took it to the dealer today was told to come back on Monday so they can look at it again; I told them there must be an issue with that rod or adjustment nut for this to keep happening and talked to the general manager he agrees there must be an issue; Chrysler and the dealership is aware of this problem and they should find a solution and fix it or consider a recall this is a dangerous and safety issue this truck only has 15580 miles on it. This safety issue was first noticed when the steering wheel was off center the truck had 12320 miles on it at this time; one another note I had made a complaint about the front tires wearing on the edges and was told that these trucks are just hard on tires which now I believe is a mechanical issue partly by the steering and front end; if this issue is not corrected I'm considering a lemon law attorney has my next step, but due to this being what I consider a safety issue NHTSA should be nofied before someone has a serious accident
