I took the truck in for an oil change to the Ram Lithia dealer. After a two hour wait they called me to the desk and explained to me that they were going to rent me a car. "wait" I said. What do you mean. Well, you have a leak In the right rear brake caliper and it was unsafe to drive the truck. I said, when will you be able to fix it? The answer was probably 90 days as there were no Mopar parts anywhere. All the parts were defective. A new seal was going to have to be made and it would probably take up to 90 days. "Are you kidding me?" I said.

All They could offer me was a car rental. As we all know I would have had to pay the payments, insurance, and not be able to use the truck the rest of the summer to pull my fifth wheel. The only option other than that was to buy a new vehicle and put up $10,000 cash. I feel like I was held hostage. So that is what I did. I have things I wanted to do and I'm not getting any younger.

I have never heard of this type of situation before. My contract said that I would pay and for at least 36,000 miles they would fix it. I didn't know they could make me park the truck in their parking lot. For a truck that only had 15,000 miles, had 4 recalls already and two fixes for the transmission I wonder what the 2017 3500 had in store for me in the near future.

What will this new 2019 dually have in store for me? Has anyone else had a similar problem. The good news is there has been no recalls thus far for the 3500 dually 6.7L.
