problem #5

Feb 262019

Crosstrek Limited 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Unable to accurately track this vehicle around corners or even straight lines, as the rear end will randomly and violently kick-out causing a fish tail type situation.

- New information, the Crosstrek's back end spun out inducing a 360-degree spin down a solid pack dirt road at 25 MPH. Luckily I did not go into the ditch or hit anyone.

I took the vehicle to the dealership once again, and they continue to refuse to assist beyond witnessing it first hand, apparently troubleshooting steps are no longer utilized.

Crosstrek Limited 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

Unable to accurately track this vehicle around corners or even straight lines, as the rear end will randomly and violently kick-out causing a fish tail type situation.

-New: While driving down a dirt road around a gentle corner my vehicle came in contact with other vehicles tire tracks in the dirt, which then, in turn, caused the Crosstrek to slide wildly out of control off to the side of the road. Tires are in good shape.

I took the vehicle to the dealership once again, and they continue to refuse to assist beyond witnessing it first hand, apparently troubleshooting steps are no longer utilized.

- Update: Concord, NH dealership (Ed Reily Subaru) blamed dirt in the suspension. Clean the small amount out, and the safety concern continues... At least they looked!

problem #1

Crosstrek Limited 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

I am not sure whether the problem lies with the AWD system, the suspension, or something else. However, this vehicle's back end will slide all over the place, sometimes with the TC light coming on, and sometimes with nothing at all. This particular problem occurred from a stop, turning to the right, at no more than 10 MPH. The back end swung out into oncoming traffic with no snow, ice, water or slush on the ground; the vehicle was equipped at the time with a new set of Studded General Altimax Arctic 12 winter tires.

This issue continues to occur to this day, no matter what tires I have on, or what the road conditions may be.

I have taken this vehicle to multiple dealerships, none of which are willing to investigate the issue even though it is a severe hazard and the car is under warranty.
