Just had the rear seat center seat belt recall done on my 2011 Subaru Forester. The center seat belt hardware is now located nearer to the side passengers and the center seat belt buckles are located nearer to the side passengers. When you twist the buckles in the correct fashion they get further into the seat which get harder to reach. The problem is that with the recall they are positioning the buckles in the opposite manner from what was done in the factory. The dealer says that this crisscrossing of seat belts is what Subaru has been instructing them to do. How can a safety recall on seat belts create another problem with the fix? I'm trying to get this fixed through Subaru. It is not safer when children can't put the correct belt in the proper buckle, or unbuckle when they need to. If I knew this was mainly a fix for affixing aftermarket child seats in the rear center I would have not done the recall procedure.
