When I notified the dealer took pictures and sent them off to Subaru, I heard nothing from them. I know that nothing hit the windshield because it already had a chip in it. I had to pay for the replacement.

Forester Premium 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 27,000 miles

Truck in front of me on the freeway kicked up a rock that nailed my windshield. It immediately took a chunk out of the windshield. I immediately took it to be repaired on the way to my destination. The chips were able to be sealed and I have my fingers crossed that it won’t spread this summer with the heat.

Forester Limited 2.51

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,500 miles

I purchased a used 2017 Subaru Forester which had 22,750 miles on it when I bought it. Salesman said there were no defects with the car (ha ha). After two weeks, saw severe pitting of the windshield when the sun shown low in the sky in the morning. Took it back to PS Subaru in Cathedral City, CA. Sales manager argued with me about the windshield denying any liability for the pitting (I had driven the car for only about 1,000 miles). Received no response from dealership as to the problem. Also, was forced to finance the car, although I wanted to pay for it with cash. Financing cost me several hundred dollars and lowered my credit rating by 30 points. Paid the finance contract in full. Typical car salesman BS.

Current class action suit pending for window defects with Outbacks and Legacies (and, obviously for some Foresters). No help from the dealership. Very disappointed.
