Since my original post, I have taken my car back to the dealership 4 additional times for the same problem. I was told by the service manager that Subaru is aware of this problem, but there is no permanent fix. They took my door apart and found another leak in the vapor barrier of the door. After five days at the dealership, they said it was fixed.

On 11/12/21 after a steady rain for several hours, I noticed water on the inner door panel, and the inner door seal was soaked. Took it to the dealer on 11/15 and was told that was normal, even though the passengers side door seals were bone dry. I was told that the seals may have been damaged from all of the times the dealership took my door apart. Service manager ordered new door seals, which to this date, have still not arrived.

Filed a lemon law case against Subaru on 10/12/21, and should be getting an offer soon. I am demanding that Subaru refund my money, and take this POS back.

I had my car parked outside and after a heavy rain, I noticed drops on my rubber floor mat, and the carpet was wet underneath. I took the car to my local Subaru dealer and they made sure there was no debris in the moonroof’s drainage tube. They told me there were no obstructions and sent me on my way.

I got it home and after another rain storm, found that my carpet was even more wet. Took it to the dealer two days later and after checking the moonroof drainage tube again, they found that the driver’s side door seal was causing the leak. The dealer replaced the driver’s door seam and even did the front passengers door too, so I wouldn’t have a problem. The service rep even told me that they were informed by Subaru that they recommended replacing the factory door seam with the upgraded one that they installed today.

I wasn’t expecting a problem with a brand new car so soon, but it was just my luck.
