The electronic parking brake is undependable and thus potentially dangerous, as this critical function does not work (my car) most of the time. Having an essential function such as a brake, dependent on battery power, electronic connections, frail electronic hardware is mindlessly stupid. The auto manufacturers should do jail time over such manufacturing practices. At the least there should be recalls on ALL of these brake designs, as they have many failure modes as depicted in there own maintenance manuals. The only dependable (and therefore legitimate) parking brake is the lever/cable or solid link type.
