XV Crosstrek Limited 2.0i

Bought my 2015 Crosstrek for more off road/rough road durability but now wish I still had my old Elantra. Haven’t used the Crosstrek off road as much as I intended to, mostly all freeway miles, but now it seems I have to replace all the cv joints. I would guess that if I did use it off road more in the beginning they would have went out a lot sooner & would have been covered but they went out just after warranty expired. Probably will never buy another Subaru.

XV Crosstrek Limited 3.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 52,600 miles

Noticed a clicking noise when cutting hard to the right...took it in to a Subaru dealer and it was a bad CV joint..whole axle had to be replaced in under 50,000 miles!!! Never have had a car that I had to replace an axle. I do highway only driving and I watch out for potholes!!

I bought a Subaru because I thought they were dependable cars but fast forward a couple months and and now a 2nd CV joint is going bad in this car. I already had the passenger replaced less than 3 months ago and now the driver side is doing the same clicking..this is ridiculous to have to replace 2 axles with less than 100k miles on a car!!!!

Apparently it is a common issue for subaru crosstrek xv cars though because it's on subaru car forum!! This should be a recall because it can be unsafe not to mention very costly!!!
