After updating to the summer 2026 update (2026.26.6), the autopilot computer started going "bad" according to Tesla, but it has nothing to do with the update. While using Autopilot, it disengages, yelling at me to take over and giving me several warnings that many automatic features such as emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and auto lane switch are all offline, including the driving visualization. This happens completely randomly throughout any drive. Sentry mode eventually goes offline if enabled, and all cameras go dark. Took it to Tesla, and since I just fell out of the 4-year warranty, they are quoting me $2600 to replace the car computer.
Tried reinstalling firmware, hard restarting, resetting calibrations, and does not work.
Heard many complaints on forums of Intel Atom HW3 computers acting up after the update as well.
