I was making a left turn to go up a ramp to park my car. The car accelerated at a high rate of speed and I was able to stop it before I hit a brick wall. Toyota checked out the car the next day and could not find anything wrong.

Avalon XLE 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,286 miles

We were pulling into a parking space when the car suddenly accelerated, jumped a concrete strip and slammed into the base of a palm tree. This happened in a matter of seconds. My wife sustained upper chest injuries from the seat belt.

Toyota checked the car again but could find no reason for the accident . The RPM's went from 700 to 3600 in 1.5 seconds. The accelerator pedal went from 27% to 79.5% in .5 seconds . The vehicle speed went from 3.7 to 23 mph in 1.5 seconds.

If you own this car would you be very careful when driving it.
