A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

THIS CAR FEELS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE, EVEN AROUND TOWN. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE TWIN CITIES LAST NIGHT, I NOTICED WHAT FELT LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS CAUSING THE CAR TO WANT TO GO OFF THE ROADWAY, ABOUT 3 OR 4 TIMES - THEN WHEN I WAS ALMOST HOME, GOING ABOUT 65 MPH THE CAR'S STEERING WHEEL FELT LIKE IT WAS FORCING THE CAR TO HEAD OFF THE ROAD AND I HAD TO FORCEFULLY PULL THE CAR BACK TOWARDS THE ROAD, THIS CAUSED ME TO SWERVE VERY HARD BUT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL, AFTER WHICH I DROVE SLOWER AND MADE SURE I WAS HOLDING ON TO THE STEERING FEEL EVEN TIGHTER SINCE I KNEW NOT WHAT TO EXPECT.

THE STEERING HAS JUST BECOME SCARY AND HARD TO HANDLE. SINCE IT IS A WEEKEND, I WILL SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT ASAP WITH MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER. WHEN IT HAS BEEN SERVICED IN THE PAST I SAW NO EVIDENCE THAT CAR WAS ACTUALLY CHECKED FOR STEERING COLUMN WEAR OR DEFECTS. THE TECHNICIANS ALWAYS CHECK OFF "OK" ON EVERYTHING, BUT THERE IS NO WAY THEY COULD CHECK OUT ALL THE ITEMS LISTED IN SO SHORT A TIME. ALSO, AFTER THE RECALL OF LATE 2012, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT THE 2008 PRIUS HAD A RECALL FOR STEERING DEFECTS. I HAVE LOST MY CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE AND WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT, OR EVEN A TOYOTA, PERIOD.
