Timing belt gasket leak. We have purchased many Toyota's and this is the first serious problem we have had under 100,000 miles. While it did not seem to be causing a problem, the dealer noticed the oil link at a regular maintenance check. Fortunately we had purchased an extended warranty. The repair without warranty is $3000. It would have to be repaired to avoid further engine damage.

This may be a possible defect of this year/model and fix may not be permanent.

I have had 5 Toyota Cars- 4 Siennas and paid a premium for reliability. It is crazy to be looking at a $2000 repair after only 2 years. This has to be an issue with the Sienna but dealer no help. Looks like my last Toyota.

Bought this brand new 2015 Sienna on Dec 28, 2015. Picked it up on Dec 31,2015. On the third day, felt vibration at 1250- 1400 RPM. Sometimes will also have drone noise when driving at a speed at 20-35 Km/h. I brought it to the dealer on Jan 12,2016. They found nothing abnormal, so they told me that this is normal behavior for a 2015 Sienna. Tried another new Sienna on their lot, did the same thing. After a few days, I experienced a rattle noise. So I brought it to dealer today for a inspection for the drone and rattle noise. To my surprise, the technician found there is oil leaking from the front engine valve cover gasket.( as they said, I am not a mechanic). So I have to leave the car in their garage. They promised that they will fix it tomorrow morning.

I bought this new Sienna just because I had believed that Toyota was the most reliable car maker. But I know I was definitely wrong!!!
