Yet again I have a faulty rear window on my Beetle Cabriolet...opposite side to the one I had fixed months ago....window half way open. As I failed to get any support from VW UK HQS for the last failed window regulator and ended up with an enormous bill to boot, am disgusted with their lack of customer care for what is evidently sub standard parts on the Beetle

In 2014 the left rear regulator broke and was replaced. One year later the right rear regulator broke. I had to replace both within one year. I was advised by my mechanic there was a recall on the regulators. I called the Volkswagen of Newton and spoke with someone in the service department. I was advised that there wasn't a recall. I find it hard believe that it is a coincidence that both broke within a year.

This is the 3rd time in same number of years. A little frightening when it happened while driving and could have caused an accident. On top of things, this time severe thunderstorms rolled in about an hour later. We have no garage. Had to improvise to cover window.

Last year, it was winter and about 17 degrees outside.

First time it happened it again was while driving and about 90+ degrees out.

Ok so now my passenger window is down and will not go back up. I purchased this car new 2004. It has had problems with the windows since the warranty ran out (of course). When rolling up the window is goes down by itself, very annoying when on freeway or in the rain. I had the front drivers side fixed in 2006, and that lasted about a year and a half....same problem again so I just ignored it not wanting to pay in excess of $500 again. Then the passenger side started doing the same thing.....so I decided to live with that also. Then BOTH back windows began deciding on rolling down on their own when I am trying to get ALL windows up. So I live with that as well. NOW the passenger window is rolled down, all the way, and won't go back up!!!! Too bad I'm stuck at home today since it is raining! VW needs to comp these fixes!!!! It is a complete rip off!

bought my 04 convertable bug brand new have under 51000 miles on it and already have had to replace all the window motors. it wouldnt be so bad if it didnt effect the fact that you can not use your drop top unless all windows work properly. and at anywhere from $400-$650 for the parts and $95 an hour at the dealership you know why they havent recalled the 03 and 04 they are making a fortune off us!!!
