09 GTI, 90,927 miles. ABS light on, traction control light on, brake light flashing, loud beeping. This began yesterday, add to that this morning: EPC light turns on, speedometer fluctuates and 'engine fault workshop' flashes on then turns off. After reading of similar accounts online, it seems like the abs module needs replacing. I called around this morning, and that looks like $2,100...approximately. I've been taking the car in religiously to the dealer for maintenance, I drive conservatively, I just took the car in last month and it was $1,000. I understand wear and tear, but this seems like a design flaw, and worse a safety issue. I didn't cause it, but it looks like I have to pay for it, and that just seems wrong.

Same deal as others. 2009 GTI. Loved this car. Sick about it now. I read on blogs that these cars fail at 100K. Still wanted the car. At 100K, ABS, power steering, traction control, check engine, BRAKE codes on dash, dings and beeps - intermittent, starts within a mile of driving, lasts for several minutes; resolves to traction control and check engine light. VW says it stems from an ECM /splice/harness directly behind dash that feeds to other ECMS. They have to take the dash apart before they can diagnose. Ready to dump it but otherwise it seems to be safe to drive . . .

Car is paid off. Now the real expenses start. Abs, traction control, flashing brake lights all came on while hitting train tracks and merging to right. Turned car off and they went away. Sound familiar? It's happened to a lot of 2009 TSI VWs. Something needs to be done. They recall less important things. My guess is the cost is the factor. The TDI debacle won't help. mine just started the day I picked up my car for water pump replacement. This car is going to put me in the poor house (Or the grave). If you're reading this VWOA....get on it. This isn't a small problem.
