On the freeway, in the fast lane, my car accelerated from the 45mph traffic allowed to a 70+mph in seconds, the brake did not hold back the acceleration.

I saw a hole and drove towards the shoulder, as I got to the slow lane, the car shuttered and died. Leaving me with no power steering or brakes. I muscled it to the shoulder, and when it stopped, would not start again.

In addition, the windows would not roll down either, so sitting there in the 80+ degree weather sucked.

AAA came for my car and took it to my mechanic who is very very skilled and he could not duplicate or figure out the cause.

2nd incident of sudden acceleration. Going up a steep hill I was about 40 ft from a 4 way stop that had cars on each stop except mine. My car went from 15mph to redline in seconds and thrust me through the stop, my attempts to brake absolutely useless. Luckily all 3 other cars were attentive and not aggressive, I made it through and had the presence of mind to throw it into neutral. My forward movement stopped with the brake, but the rev continued and a huge plume of white smoke came from the tailpipe. There was so much smoke it looked like something was on fire.

I shoved it back into drive bc I was on a blind corner and right in the middle of the street, I limped it 2 blocks to my house where it died and wouldn't start.

I called VW of America for guidance, they told me to go to the dealership. Which still isn't repaired.
