My 2017 VW Tiguan only had just over 50,000 miles on it. The car has been maintained at VW dealership for the entire time I've owned it. The car has never had any problems, until one day it started making loud noises like the engine was working too hard and lights came on the dash. I immediately pulled over to avoid any damage to engine and had it towed to VW dealership to diagnose. I am completely shocked when they tell me its the timing chain and tensioner rod that ended up costing me 2400.00. I don't see how this could happen to a car that has been maintained properly, especially when the car doesn't even have 55,000 miles on it. I got the car repaired but it is not car and it drives loud and knocks now. I've taken the car back to the dealership where I got it fixed and told them about how it drives now. Since it has a warranty, they looked at it and resealed something, but it did not help the problem. Its so frustrating, I'm about ready to give up. VW should be better than this, they owe us customers some honesty and offer to make it right.
