So I bought this vehicle brand new at the dealership. I encountered the collision detection during the first six months of owning it and for almost nothing resembling an accident. Noticing a grinding sound in my two front rotors to include an awful groove in the rotors I decided to go to VW to get it checked. I was told that it was wear and tear, but I have had vehicles with the same rotors for years and now this is not supposed to be normal. I was additionally quoted $700.00 by VW when I went in for servicing and eventually disabled the Collision Detection to save myself from nearly dying when this feature decides what is a legitimate crash situation.....so far it only stopped at a street divider.
