The sidewall of the tire is very weak on the back right rear tire. The owner was parallel parking and the right rear tire rubbed against the curb, and the tire ripped. This is a new vehicle, 2005 Volvo, the car was bought in April. There was no prior problems with the tire before this incident. The owner is calling the dealer after this phone call. The tire is a Continental conti touring contact. The speed was about an 1/2 mph. The owner is going to get ahold of the service department and see what they recommend. The consumer stated the manufacturer was not willing to assist.
