Hyundai blames the problem on an error during manufacturing in vehicles manufactured from January 24, 2012, through June 21, 2012.
Your dealer will replace the curtain side air bags free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin August, 2012. Owners may contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151 and mention recall number 106.
The Sonata recall comes the same day Hyundai recalled certain Santa Fe vehicles for air bag problems.
