Nissan Recalls 2012 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra Vehicles
Wheel hub could crack and break while driving.

— Nissan is recalling model year 2012 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra two-wheel drive vehicles because the wheel hub may break. A disastrous scenario comes to mind if it happened while driving.

The affected vehicles were manufactured from June 19, 2012, through July 12, 2012.

Nissan says the problem is in the hardness of the wheel hub and even if it doesn’t crack and break, the hub could still wear prematurely.

Owners will be notified by Nissan and dealers will replace the left and right side front wheel hub assemblies free of charge. The recall is expected to begin about October 8, 2012.

You can contact Nissan at 800-647-7261 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.
