This is the second Crown Vic I have owned with this problem. The first was a 1992 and I thought that they had fixed this problem as my Crown Vic now is a 2004. I am having to have not only the manifold gasket replaced but as well the plastic (fiberglass or whatever it is made of) plenum replaced. Very costly problem to have fixed.

I have the police crown Vic 2004 I had just got it tuned up about 6 months ago I drive a lot and leave my car running a lot I was following somebody to the dealership To drop there car off. On the way back home the temp gauge went up I never have had my car run hot before. I thought it needed a new thermostat I changed the thermostat and filled it with coolant ran it for a while. It ran good Drove it 250plus. Miles then it ran hot again I let it run in the drive way and I noticed It was pouring coolant and steam was coming from the top right side of the engine I looked it up on crown Vic .net. And it was the intake manifold that was leaking It's made of plastic and around 120k and up. It cracks. I found a new manifold for 192 with shipping gaskets And thermostat On. Auto train .com. Had to buy the lower gasket And labor was 378. It's a 4 almost 5 hour job Love my car though just another thing minor In convince For the cv this happen at 174k for. My car

I just had coolant leak from underneath the engine. After all the coolant were gone, some smoke came out so I had it towed to the dealership. They said it needs to replace a new intake manifold, gasket and temp.sensor. The car is still getting fixed, but repair bill comes to $1565 plus tax.

This is on going problem for Ford, someone even won a lawsuit in 2005 again Forf Motor Co. The should recall all the related vehicles and refund consumer repair costs. Anyone knows how to file a complaint to Ford or lawsuit, please contact me.I will never buy a Ford again after owned 4 in the past 12 years !

intake manifold gasket leak intake manifold gasket leak

My 2004 Crown Vic just had coolant leaks from underneath the engine that caused smoke while I was on the road.I drained all the coolant so the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. The car is getting fixed now and repair bill comes up $1560 plus tax. They have to replace a new intake manifold and gasket which are the sets, clean up all the leak mess in the engine bay, etc.

Ford had this ongoing problem in the past years, why they didn't recall them and what's going on of the lawsuit ? Anyone has any information ? I want to file a complaint again Ford, anyone know how ? Please get back to me if you had the same experience. Thanks.
