The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. Within a short period of time of owning the vehicle, the contact stated that it went into a transportation mode while driving that led to a drastic reduction in speed. The vehicle was towed to the following dealers: Lasco Ford (2525 owen rd, fenton, mi 48430, (888) 486-1708) and royal oak Ford (27550 woodward ave, royal oak, mi 48067, (248) 548-4100). One of the dealers diagnosed that the steering and parking brake failed. A loaner vehicle was provided for a short period of time, but the failures were not corrected for the contact to drive her vehicle. Lasco Ford replaced the throttle body, motor assembly, and a gasket; however, the failure continued. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1.

When driving my check engine light randomly turns on, on the freeway, street, turning, etc. And then it says check manual. The car starts shaking and you can't accelerate. In order to get where I need to be I have to pull over constantly and restart the car. I got it checked at auto zone and it said it was the throttle body actuator stuck in the open position. Oh and becomes more difficult to steer the vehicle when the error pops up.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration and the wrench icon illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (packey webb Ford, 1815 ogden avenue, downers grove, il 60515) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

Car stopped accelerating in the middle of the highway, yellow wrench light came on and airbag light came on. The car started shaking and came to a complete stop. I barely made it to safety on the highway full of cars. I pulled over and turned it off because it wouldn't drive. I turned it back on and it drove fine. I have researched this and realized this has been happening to thousands of people who own 2016 Fusion and yet there is no recall. I am terrified of driving it. It seems to be the throttle body that needs complete replacement but at expense of the owner despite thousands of cases. How can this be? please advise.

Similar to issues others were having with the throttle control placing the car into "limp" mode, it would appear that this is what happened yesterday as my wife was driving the car on a major highway near pittsburgh (376 West, near the split of 79 North/South) with me in the passenger seat, and three kids under the age of 9 in the back seat. Without warning, the car seemingly shut off or "throttled down" and began to shimmy and shake, losing most of its functionality. We were forced to pull to the side of the road, which we barely did, with vehicles speeding past at 4 lane highway speeds. The following day, I contacted Ford and explained the situation but was not told anything about this systemic issue. It was not until I discovered the issue on my own, that I learned about the fact that Ford has not issued a recall for the electronic throttle body control but instead a "customer satisfaction program" which was not communicated to me, to the best of my knowledge, until after we nearly lost our lives and I had to have the car towed. This issue is going to get someone killed (if it has not already happened) and it would appear that Ford fails to appreciate it. My vehicle has just over 18,000 miles on it. I own 2 Ford vehicles but won't be buying another.

While driving today, I suddenly lost the ability to accelerate. The vehicle began to vibrate abnormally, and then the power went out. I began to smell smoke, and I almost hit the vehicle in front of me because I couldn't control my car! once I finally came to a stop, I was able to restart it and pull over to a safer area-- but the smoke remained. I believe the throttle body is malfunctioning, which is unacceptable on an almost-new car.

I was pulling into a parking space near power and phone lines when the car suddenly surged forward. I was able to step harder on the brake pedal and the car stopped after traveling about 2 feet. The Ford dealer checked codes, etc. And found nothing wrong. I had previously received a recall from Ford and the electronic throttle body had been replaced about a month before this incident. I feel that electromagnetic interference has caused this incident because there is no shielding for the gas pedal. I have about 8400 miles on this vehicle.

After coming to a stop on our highway ramp. I had intended to make a right turn. Before I took my foot off the brake my car accelerated causing my back tires to lock and screech. I was unable to turn the steering wheel toward the right so that I could remain on the two lane road. My car pulled to the left and I slammed into the medium. My car came to a complete stop but was still running. I turned off the medium and continued home. Shortly after I heard thumping noise followed by louder thumping and my entire dash board lit except for the check engine light and the wrench. I pulled my car to the side to find I had two blown front tires, my bumper was broken and my driver side back tire went flat waiting on a tow. All my years driving I have never experienced an unintentional acceleration of a vehicle and pray that myself or granddaughter never have to again.

I have a 2016 Ford Fusion that I purchased in February of this year. It has lost power four times in the last three days that I have driven it, twice in rush hour traffic heading to and from dallas for work. A wrench will show up on the dashboard, a message saying "see manual" will pop up, and the vehicle fails to accelerate. I cannot pull the vehicle over out of the way of oncoming traffic because it will not accelerate at all. I've taken the car into the dealership twice. The first time was this past Monday. I was told that the vehicle needed a software update and a new throttle body and that the car would be fine afterwards. On my way home yesterday, during rush hour traffic on a busy four lane highway work no shoulder to pull off on because of constriction, my vehicle lost power again. I was able to turn the car off and on and make it to the dealership. They replaced another part and once again told me that the issue was fixed. My issue is not with the dealership, it is with Ford Motor Company. I have contacted them twice regarding my vehicle and I have yet to receive a callback. I purchased this vehicle brand new. The issue is a known issue to Ford, but there has yet to be a recall. Do I have to die in my vehicle on 35E in an accident before someone does something about this? I'm afraid to put my children in this vehicle as it puts my family's and my life in imminent and substantial danger. Please help me with this I issue. I can't continue to drive this vehicle.

My 18 year old daughter was driving the Fusion attempting to enter a highway ramp (route 22 in springfield NJ) to go dorm shopping for school. Upon entering the highway and accelerating on the ramp the vehicle stalled and became unresponsive to acceleration while pressing down in the pedal. The vehicle behind her began to accelerate; the Fusion then lost all power, the vehicle stuck her in the rear and pushed my daughters Fusion into an active lane with traffic traveling at 55 mph and up. There was minor aesthetic damage to the Fusion. But that is not my concern in the least! the Fusion was stuck on an active high speed highway, my daughter could or should have easily been seriously injured or killed! this is the demarcation of a near miss! the check engine light came on with the 'wrench icon' the vehicle had to be towed to a local dealer. Then there are 100's of articles pertaining to injuries and fatalities due faulty throttle bodies! Ford sales failed to mention that during the sale! I stopped at Ford service this morning to advise them of the details of the incident and the service advisor stated 'ah yeah gotta be the throttle body' 'happens all the time' 'there was a bad batch'!

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle decelerated and stalled. The wrench warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle shook violently. The contact had to coast the vehicle to the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body assembly failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,900.

While driving my son's 2016 Fusion on the highway at about 60 mph the check engine light came on and the car seem to loose all power. The car wouldn't accelerate even though I had the gas pedal all the way to the floor. I managed to get to shoulder safely and parked. I tried restarting the car several times with the same results ( check engine light remained on, stepping on the accelerator the car doesn't move and the gas gauge dropped from 3/4 to empty. ) I shut the car off and and contacted Ford towing service because the car had only 6000 miles on it. After an hour and a half waiting I checked the status of the tow and was told the company cancelled and didn't tell Ford so it would be another hour for a new tow. I decided to try the car again and to my surprise the check light was off and the car was operating again. I got off the highway at the first exit and headed for the Ford dealership where my son purchased the car. The car lost power again but this time I let it sit for 20 minutes before restarting the car. It worked with one difference the check engine light remained on. I got to the dealer and they pulled two codes. P2111 and P2112 ( throttle body failure ) I got the impression they were not surprised and replaced the throttle body the next day.
