In March Key got stuck in Driver Door. Kept wiggling it till it came out, but Driver Door will not lock or unlock with either Key. June 5, 2012 both Keys stopped locking and unlocking the Passenger Door. Only way to lock car Doors is after the Driver Door is shut hitting the lock from inside and closing Door... only Way to unlock... Crawl though the Back ( the 5th ) Door. June 23, 2012 After loading my car, I am a RCA for Athens Texas Post Office. Tried to Start Car and Keys hard to go in almost gets stuck and will not turn the Ignition. Each one worked normal one minute no sign of a problem to just totally Never working again. My car is stuck at work. and in the routes designated spot till I can get someone to tow it home, which is a problem since can not get it on trailer or dolly cause steering and gear shift is locked, and not sure if a large wrecker is going to damage it more by pulling it up on the truck with everything locked. This is major Problem without the ignition Problem, cause I am required to be able to secure the mail at all times, So I am Crawling through the car all day having to rearrange stuff to do so, At 44 years old this wears you out quick. With ignition problem Saturday I Was unable to run my route and two other girls had to split my route after they completed their routes. I lost $200.00 Dollars of my wages cause I could not work. and what ever the cost is for replacing locks and ignition switch. over $600.00 at least. and this is after I replaced Power steering hose 4 days ago that cost me $200.00. Got online to see if any thing to do to fix the problem without replacing everything, To find all these People who have Honda's ( All models ranging from 97 to 2010 so far, With the Same Problem. these complaints started 2003 and are still happening, Which Means these locks, ignition switches and Keys are defected and Honda is not doing anything about it. still installing them. And Oh well, Sorry about your luck Not their problem. If it was a known defect and not just normal wear on these. it would be one thing some of these Cars are only a couple of years old so its a defect. Honda Should have Stopped Using them in 2003 at the least or fix the problem. they had to know before 2003 about it since the 97 models are having this problem as well, and that is if older model Honda owners have not complained online.. It could be a lot longer. I love my Honda, and was going to get another CRV, before this happened. But after this. I can not take the chance of getting keys hung and no way of unlocking or starting the car. with Federal mail in it.... so instead of fixing her I am trading her. that is if they will take her, as I can not turn key to even see what the actual mileage is, I just put something down on the registration cause it would not let me leave it blank.
