The door locks activate inappropriately when the car is stopped. I unlock the doors to take my children out of the back of the car, and the car locks itself within 2-3 seconds before I can even open the back door. Beyond just being annoying, this is a major safety issue.

Driver side door continues to self-lock when trying to open car door for entrance. If the car door handle is pulled after 2 seconds, the driver door locks along with all other doors on the vehicle. I have been a Honda car driver for the majority of my driving life. I love Honda brand of cars because they are such a dependable car with regular maintenance upkeep, however this is frustrating as I am now fearful that I might actually become locked in my car and would need to climb out of the window to exit.

The car locks automatically 2-5 seconds after it is put into gear. Lately, the locks have begun to unlock and relock several times while driving. When I get to my destination, I am unable to open the passenger door, either manually, with the key fab or with the lock button. I have to use one hand to open the lock lever and the other to open the car door. I have also locked my car, went into a store, and come back to the doors being unlocked. Very unsafe. Honda needs to recall immediately for repair. Besides a child being able to open the door, I am very vulnerable to someone entering into my car and waiting for me. I see so many complaints online for the very same reason. There is even a class action lawsuit. When I called the dealership, they said it is the first they heard of the problem. How can that be?

The automatic door locks continually lock and unlock themselves. Each time I restart the car, the door locks will automatically lock. After a few minutes, they will unlock by themselves.

Front drivers side and front passenger door locks did not activate per design when reaching speed of 9 mph. Consider this to be a safety problem in that driver or passenger could open doors while traveling at high rates of speed or in case of accident doors could open exposing driver or passenger to harm.

In January of 2011 the power door locks on my Honda CRV started clicking at 10 mph--by February of 2011, the doors started locking on me seconds after I remotely unlocked the door--sometimes not even letting me open the door and get into the car. I had an incident in mid February, when the door blew closed with the key in the ignition, my purse and cell phone in the car--and locked me out of the car--thankfully my sunroof was open and all 63 years of me had to climb into the car through the sunroof. Next day we took it to the dealer, who replaced the actuator on the driver door. Almost two years later in may of 2013 it started all over again--this time the rear door behind the driver. The first time it cost us $282--this last time it was $244. We have two more doors to go and another lady said she had all of them replaced and it cost her $900.--this is definitely a defect in these cars, and Honda should have a recall and reimburse what we had to pay!

After unlocking door with switch or keyfob all doors will start to lock themselves. My wife and daughter were in the car and couldn't figure out how to get out. I'm concerned this is a potential safety issue as they can't get out in case of an accident. The dealer tested it and confirmed there was a short in the master window switch and could be a short in the micu multi-plex body control unit. First recommended to replace the master window switch ($400) and then the other part if that doesn't work.

The locks are acting weird. The car locks automatically when the door is closed. As soon as I get in the doors lock and the same when I get out. When I need to get in the car I need to use the key fob and it unlocks for just a second the locks again quickly. Very annoying! I fear the locks will malfunction more and more as time passes. Today the alarm went on and I had to start the car and put it in reverse and back in drive then in park and then off to end the alarm.

The lock on my right passenger and rear/trunk doors locked and were unable to unlock (could not open manually either). The car was parked in my garage when this occurred. The dealership wanted to charge me $860 to repair both locks. After contacting America Honda, the price was dropped to $401. Apparently the problems were the fuse box problem and the door latch actuator. I feel this to be a safety concern especially since I have a toddler who could have been or may be trapped in the car when the doors lock. This is a defect of the vehicle and not a maintenance that I neglected to service or upkeep therefore I feel that I should not have to pay anything and the car should be recalled since I've read enough complaints regarding the CRV door locks. I am the original owner of this car and have only taken my car to Honda dealership for services.

While driving my Honda CR-V 2007 the locks would unlock and lock on their own. Anytime I slow down and come to a stop the passenger side door unlocks. It will also never lock when I leave the car. I also remember months earlier that the dome light flickered when we had the doors open and putting stuff in the car. I didn't notice it for awhile and figured it was ok since it didn't happen anymore.

While riding there was a noise from the passenger side of car and it was the automatic door lock when the car is moving. The lock kept locking and very slowly unlocking. When I stopped the car (motor off) I tried it again with the same result. The passenger door locked and the slowly just unlocked by itself. I now have 20,033 miles on car and my extended warranty expired on May 11, 2013. Now I can not secure my car when left unattended.

We are having a problem with the door locks on our CR-V. the locks will not stay open for more than 2 seconds. One fob key will open the door. But we have to be ready to open the door at the exact second we hit the fob. The turn key lock does not work. While in the vehicle, whether the ignition is on or off...if we hit the unlock button-it locks again immediately. We are concerned about getting out of the vehicle incase of an emergency. We contacted our Honda dealer when this first occurred and was told the problem is the driver door actuator. After doing some research we found this to a wide spread issue and a big enough problem to make the tv news in two different states. Before filing this complaint, I called Honda Corp and explained our issue with the CR-V and found their response to the issue to be very blazay. I explained our research findings and was told to have a diagnostic test done to see if it is a Honda defect or our problem. There is a charge for that as well. Also in doing the research, we found that doing the driver side door will not take care of the problem and all the doors will eventually need a new actuator. The price is $350 or more per door. This is definitely a major safety issue that Honda need to address.

Several months ago, I noticed that the lock on the right front passenger's side door of my 2007 Honda CR-V would engage and disengage while I was driving. The lock shifted every time I came to a stop sign or traffic light, then would continue to unlock and re-lock every time I went above/below 15 mph. When I put the car in park, however, the lock would re-engage and the car would remain locked. Now the lock on this door does not lock at all, regardless of whether the car is in motion. The lock also does not lock when the car is in park. The remote lock does not work, even though the horn beeps and the locks attempt to engage as if the vehicle doors were all locked and remain locked. This morning (July 1, 2013) the back rear passenger's side door began to have the same problem. I had previously mentioned this issue during a service appointment, at which time a Honda-certified technician at lehigh valley Honda told me that he had "never heard of this problem" and it would "probably just click back into place." I later made mention of the same problem during my inspection two weeks ago, but they did not have time to investigate the issue that day. I just spoke with the same location and have an appointment for July 5 to see if they can "diagnose" the problem. The manager told me he didn't want to "diagnose this over the phone" but insist they give the vehicle a complete workup -- which I am fine with, so long as I am not being charged for labor. This seems like a very real safety issue, as door locks that become disengaged while the car is moving would put anyone in fear of having small children or pets in the back seat. I hope Honda sees it necessary to issue a recall and fix the actuator, which is what seems to be the chief complaint among over CR-V owners.

As I was driving in town my back left door lock suddenly unlocked itself, without my pushing any locking button. This continued sporadically. However, when I took it to the dealership nothing happened, so they could do nothing. Later the other back door had the same problem. That may have been in November of 2012, I honestly don't remember. When my husband took the car to the dealership this time, they quoted a price for repair which my husband felt was too high, so he did not have anything done. Within the past two months (maybe April of 2013), the drivers' side door also came down with the same unlocking problem. Last Tuesday afternoon, June 26, 2013, the simple clicking sound which accompanied the unlocking action was replaced with a loud grinding sound. Generally this happens when the car is moving from a standing still situation to moving forward. I saw this morning that it happened at 10 mph, but sometimes it just happens several times consecutively. The car cannot be locked, so the door could be opened while in motion, or it could be entered by anyone at any time. I know mine is not the only car of this model to have this problem.

On June 10, 2013 I brought my 2007 CRV into Honda North, danvers, MA to get my annual inspection & a routine maintenance service. I mentioned I was having problems with my passenger door lock which was starting to lock automatically. The diagnostic uncovered that there was a problem with my actuator and on 6/28/13 I had this replaced for $325. On 6/29/13, one day later all "4" doors had problems. My two small children got locked in the car with it running when I stepped out of the driver door to retrieve something from the hatch back. When I closed the driver door, all "4" doors locked automatically and my two small children were locked inside!!! I can no longer use the remote key to open the doors, when I manually open the doors I have 2 seconds before all "4" doors lock to get inside. I am afraid that my children will get locked inside again or if there is an emergency they will be trapped inside. Honda needs to fix this actuator failure before there are further incidents or fatalities because of this!! so far I have spent too much time & money on repairs and I want peace of mind that I have properly functioning locks.

The passenger side door lock will not remain locked. It will unlock by itself and when the car is in motion at more the 10 mph the lock will cycle between locking and unlocking. It is the same problem that many other Honda owners of a CR-V appear to be having. A passenger must than ride with the door unlocked and I feel this is a safety hazard. Also, the car can't be secured when parked. Honda Corp. Is aware of this problem but has not made any effort to correct it. Honda Corp. States that this is normal wear and tear and because it is out of the warranty mileage(36,000) it is the owners responsibility to pay for this repair. To me this sounds more like a design flaw and Honda should stand behind their product.

On Monday June 24, 2013, I put my children in the car, fastened their car seats, walked around to my driver door to find it locked. My children were locked in the vehicle in my garage with the keys in the ignition. (thank goodness I was still at home and was able to locate the spare key) the car is automatically locking itself within seconds of the unlock button being pressed on the remote. It locks and unlocks itself while driving at this point (July 1, 2013) this again poses a large hazard to Transport children in a car whose doors unlock while driving. Absolutely a safety defect! after some online research, this is a very common safety malfunction in 2007 CRV's, yet Honda has not made a recall. I guess they are not that concerned about safety.
