I'm not going to bash Nissan, first off. But I will share my experiences and why I won't purchase another. I have had a total of 3 Nissan's. A 2006 Frontier NISMO, a 2012 Rogue and now a 2012 Pathfinder. First the Frontier. I picked it over the Toyota. Bad mistake. This vehicle had start up problems in hot weather. It resembled a "Vapor Lock" (for those that drove in the 60's and 70's). Took it to Metro Nissan in Montclair Ca. Service personnel didn't seem too interested but said he'd check it out. 2 days later, "Sorry, we could not "Duplicate" the problem. This problem happened over and over till one day while passing Carmax, I dumped the Nissan for an 06 Mustang GT. Best car I ever owned.

Next my wife got talked into buying a 2012 Rogue. This vehicle has a CVT Transmission. Worst car (power wise) I've ever driven. And I have driven other cars with a CVT. This car was just downright dangerous when merging into traffic that's already going 65 and 70. So bad we traded it (after 9 months) for a 2012 Pathfinder.

Now the Pathfinder. We purchased it December of 2011 for the 2012 model year. I noticed the night we drove it home that the idle was a bit weird. Vibrations could be felt when the idle dropped to around 700 rpm.

Took it in and the service tech (real nice guy) was able to duplicate it. Now 4 months later it's doing the same thing. The last time it did it and this time I took pictures with my phone. This is def my last Nissan. I told my wife I will not let her talk me into buying another Nissan product, Period...

The bottom line, Nissan issued a TSB for the NISMO starting issue. The CVT transmission, well, that's an owners decision. It sounds very noisy upon full throttle. With all that noise you would expect power and speed, but they are never felt. The CVT in a V6 Murano was much better but still had that "Lazy feel" like it wanted to upshift too soon.
