The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Xterra. When an occupant is seated in the passenger seat, the air bag indicator remains illuminated and is not activated for persons weighing 100 pounds. The dealer stated that the air bag was operating as designed and there was nothing to repair. The dealer will inform the contact on the weight requirements that need to be enabled for the indicator to dim. The failure and current mileages were 12,000.

Nissan is not willing to honor the recall on air bag crash sensor. I live in Nevada they say that road salt is not used in this state yet I work for the dept. Of transportations and personally ordered over 1000 tons of salt to be applied to the roads in my section alone this year. I have called them and they will not reconsider.

I had a head on collision in the 2006 Nissan Xterra. While driving approximately 40 mph when I hit the side of a pickup truck. Neither the driver's or passenger's air bags deployed. The fire department said that with this type of impact they should have deployed. The Nissan body shop where the car was located also said they were shocked that with the extent of the damage that they didn't deploy.
