what a terrible problem and super expensive to fix !!! the dealer quoted me $1600 to repair the issue. from the information i have gathered this is a common problem, the manufacturer should offer a recall on these things or at least some portion of compensation towards the repair at least. its pretty frustrating to spend that kind of cash for something that even the service advisor i spoke to admitted is a common problem with this make and model.

The primary timing chain guide has failed and slipped down. This is a known problem which if I had

known several years ago, I would not have purchased the car. This is a $2000 repair. I will never

buy a Nissan again.

I purchased my car new in 2008, On 11/15/16, I discovered Nissan timing Chain Lawsuit filed in New York. I am angry because Nissan never contacted me about the problem. When I showed the article to my Nissan service dept.; they stated they didn't know anything about it. The Tech who diagnosed the problem gave me 1-800-Nissan1 for assistance. The Tech informed me if the problem isn't fixed in a month my engine may lock up. Have not received help from Nissan as of yet. What is the recommended action to take?

I do not intend to pay thousands of dollars to have a faulty part replaced. Nissan had better cover this, or i can definitely guarantee that i will never even consider buying a nissan.
