problem #2

2009Feb 27

Grand Am SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 126,127 miles

after a month of trying to find the problem, {cars equipped with the passlock system} ,it is an anti-theft device to shut off ther fuel injectors in the case of the key not being recognized.
{the chip not being on the key , but is in the tumbler assembly}.{gm recall 02008}is with the passlock system being installed, is still delivering to much voltage through the switch burning it up ,not letting the security system recognizing the key and letting it shut off the injectors. after the new harness being installed and reprograming the anti-theft it started and drove away. hope this helps!

THE PEOPLE WHO DESIGN THESE CARS SHOULD HAVE TO WORK ON THEM FOR ATLEAST 20 YEARS BEFORE THE GET TO DESIGN THEM!
