problem #2

Nov 212014

Grand Prix GXP 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

While sitting at a red light, when light changed, pushed on the accelerator and the only thing that happened was the engine rev'd up. Checked all the gears to include reverse with no affect, car just sat. No warning, no unusual shifting issues leading up to complete failure.

CAR WAS RUNNING FINE SHIFTING GOOD STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT FOOT ON BRAKE, SUDDENLY A HUGE BANG. THOUGHT THE ENGINE BLEW SHOOK THE CAR. STARTED TO DRIVE OFF IN DRIVE AND NOTHING. ENGINE REVED UP WOULDN'T MOVE. DOWN SHIFTED TO FIRST STARTED TO MOVE MANUALLY SHIFTED TO 2ND , 3RD GOT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN I WAS GOING AROUND 45 I SHIFTED TO DRIVE IT MOVED THEN. WILL NOT MOVE FROM A STANDING POSITION IN DRIVE. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT 40 MILES BACK HOME IN DRIVE STOPPED AND WOULDN'T MOVE UNLESS I WENT THROUGH THE GEARS.
