MDX Tech/ENT 3.7L V6

My brother-in-law gave my daughter his 2012 MDX with 60,835 miles on it in November 2022. He has always taken great care of his vehicles. Yesterday I went to change the oil at 65,946 and it was 2 quarts low on the switch out. I have read that these engines can burn up to a quart of oil every 1000-1500 miles between changes. I have been driving since the 1980's and never had a vehicle burn that much oil before. I see a lawsuit was filed and resolved out of court. Any thoughts or suggestions as to how to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.

This is really upsetting. I am the first and only owner. I have not been informed about there being an oil consumption issue until recently. I have noticed my car was needing oil way sooner than usual. I took it to am Acura dealer who told me about the oil consumption. We did a test where I came back at 1000 miles and sure enough I went through 2 quarts. And to my surprise Acura is aware of this issue and because I am outside the warranty I am out of luck. This should be a recall. I was never informed about the issue, and now that I am experiencing it, I am out of luck. How disappointing. I am looking for some advice on how to take this up with Acura. Thanks.

I drive my MDX on a regular basis and travel over 300-400 miles a week. I have to change my oil every 1,000 miles due to it burning a 1 quart per thousand mile, and the oil going bad quicker than it should. This is so frustrating and costing me severely. I can't sell the car cause I still owe a large amount on the loan...

I have always driven an Acura and I must admit, I'm really disappointed about how when I went to the dealer complaining about the problem thinking they would at least help, I instead got the run around left to fend for myself... not what I would expect considering how much the MDX costs and that the MDX is a well known vehicle. Needless to say, I don't think my next vehicle will be another Acura!! Sorry that Acura has left its customers high and dry but now it's time to leave them!!

We purchased a 2012 Acura MDX in October of 2019 - it had only 64000 miles on it. The Honda dealer was changing our oil on a regular basis - it was using 1 1/2 quarts of oil between oil changes. The Acura now has 86000 miles and using 2 quarts of oil between oil changes. This is a factory defect and Acura should stand behind their product and fix the problem. These SUVS are expensive - please fix my MDX!

Vehicle uses way more oil than usual. Have to top up oil every 2 weeks. Oil reading does not match oil usage. Oil reading was 50% but oil level on stick was extremely low. Have been doing oil change very often.

I had noticed oil consumption after purchasing the car. Oil light comes on when car says 30-40% oil life left. This has occurred 3 times now since I purchased the vehicle. The dealership has changed the oil ahead of schedule stating that the car can lose 1 quart of oil per 1000 miles. This is unacceptable for an Acura and has never happened with any other vehicle in my lifetime. It soulds like the same problem that Honda is having and the pending recall. Honda/Acura are the same companies and I feel it must be the same issue. I think more people should post the issue. My neighbor has the same car and said he had the same issue.
