I have not had a car use oil since a high mileage 1969 Chevy Impala.I apparently now have one in my Q5!. I was told because I am using synthetic oil, I can go 10000 miles between oil change service. So after the last change, I was getting it every 5000, warning light popped on after about 7500 saying add oil! Tried to get the right oil at several gas stations, and they did not carry the recommended synthetic oil. Did not want to chance voiding a warranty, so took it in for oil change Service told me that the vehicle should use a quart of oil approximately every 7500 miles. I see other model years apparently have had the same problem.
