We were on a trip to northern Illinois and about 700 miles into the trip when the car did not respond to the accelerator. We were coasting on the interstate when the acceleration came back. Luckily we were just 6 miles from an Audi deal. They diagnosed the low pressure fuel pump was going out. They fixed it ($1,300) and we drove it in northern Illinois for about 200 miles without incident. On the way home, about 620 miles into our trip, the car started to do the same thing. Luckily, we were about 5 miles from an Audi dealer. They said it must be the high pressure fuel pump going bad and fixed it ($1,500). The Q5 failed us twice on the same trip. We can't trust this car on a long trip anymore. Both days were very hot, 95 degrees +.
