My 2012 Audi TT with only 132,000km (or 82,000 miles) had the engine light come on while driving. We had it towed to our mechanic where all sorts of tests were done. It was deemed cylinder 4 wouldn't hold pressure and the fix was a new engine. We reached out to Audi Canada and were kindly told they would do nothing - especially since it wasn't seen at an Audi dealership. So we tow it to Audi where they diagnose the same issue (what a surprise...) and give us the options to open the engine to find the potential issue and see if it's fixable.

They used a small camera to get into the engine and confirmed the cylinder wall was scored which is not fixable (only fix would be to get a new engine from Germany at a mere $20,000). This car was babied and never missed a service. She was kept in a heated garage and was only driven on highway. To have this happen and to have Audi offer nothing is not acceptable. I thought Audi was a supposed to be a good brand but I apparently I was mistaken.
