Firestone firehawk GT tire failed under normal driving conditions. Tire tread separated from interior sidewall. Tire was less than 2 years old and had logged fewer than 20,000 miles. Tire damage occurred on short trip (<5 miles) and driver recognized that the tire was damaged before driving the car again. Accordingly, there was no accident or injury.
