I purchased this car from a Germain VW in Westerville, Ohio in October 2015. The car had a shuddering vibration which seemed to come from the drive train around 60 mph at first, I had a 90 day warranty and reported it them. I did not drive the car in the winter much. I took the car to a local tire shop and had the wheels checked for damage and had them straighten by a reputable wheel repair shop and put new tires on the car. The vibration was still there and seemed to get worse and started doing it under acceleration.

I took it to my nearest BMW dealer early May 2026 by trailer as I thought it would not be good to drive it as it was getting worse. They replaced wheels which they showed me were still not straight and changed the transfer case fluid because there still was a shudder in the drive train. They said it should go away in a couple hundred miles of driving. I drove the car around 100 miles and the shudder got considerable worse as I drove it until it got so bad I could not drive it any more, the car shudder violently and it sounded like something really came apart in the drive train. I have scheduled an appointment with my nearest BMW dealer again and will trailer the car to them again. It is 140 miles round trip. The service tech said it would most likely need a replacement transfer case.
