The contact owns a 2019 BMW X7. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH, she felt and observed a loud bang emanating from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle chassis stabilization malfunction warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road where the vehicle was inspected. The contact stated that the vehicle was observed leaning towards the rear right. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger side air strut was fractured and the compressor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.
